What is Reiki?

Reiki (pronounced Ray Kee) by definition is broken down into two parts: Rei - meaning "wisdom and knowledge of all the universe", then Ki-meaning "flow through all things. As a modality for healing, Reiki is a holistic system used to balance and harmonize all aspects of ones being. It brings into alignment the body, mind and spirit.
Reiki Healing can be applied in two ways, one a gentle, nonintrusive hands-on technique and secondly, over a distance which involves the use of sacred symbols and mantras. Because Reiki is the the wisdom and knowledge that flows through all things, it can be applied to all of our life concerns. There is nothing that can not be affected by the energy of its universal life force.
